My Review: Wicked Appetite is a fun listen! If you love Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, you’ll love this audiobook. Lizzie Tucker’s character has many of the same qualities as Stephanie too. She’s spunky, smart and can roll with the punches.
Lizzie is a pastry chef at a local bakery and specializes in delicious cupcakes that are almost unreal. She’s living a simple life after inheriting her aunt’s home in Marblehead and trying to make big repairs to keep the home standing. To make that extra money, she’s working on finishing her own cookbook and getting it published. Sadly, she has a pile of rejection letters that make her mission seem impossible.
Lizzie’s life turns upside down when a strong, sexy man pops up in her life. If you’ve listened to the Plum series, you’ll recognize the name of the infamous “Unmentionable”, Diesel. Diesel is a stunning hunk of man that needs Lizzie’s help to stop Wulf and his plan of power. Just as Stephanie was back in the Plum series, Lizzie can’t believe the craziness Diesel is spewing.
This audiobook is packed with funny quips and action. Next to Lizzie, my favorite character is Glo, the counter girl at the bakery and aspiring witch. After she buys a spell book, she’s bound and determined to put a spell on someone or something… And boy does she ever! Such a fun character!
Overall, if you love Janet Evanovich’s writing like I do and/or the Stephanie Plum series, sink your teeth into this one. And great news, this is a series too! The second book in The Unmentionables series, Wicked Business, will be released on June 19, 2012.
Narrator Review: *Sigh* Lorelei King makes my day brighter by bringing the books she narrates to life. Her technique is flawless and captivating. I’ve found myself looking forward to anything she is narrating and adding it to my “to be listened to pile”. Love, love, love the narration!
