My Review: Warm Bodies brings a very fresh perspective to the otherwise rotting zombie genre. Zombies with brains.. and not just in their mouth.

R is certainly not your typical run of the mill zombie. R longs for the life he once lived and attempts to surround himself with as much of the old world as possible. He stocks his home with albums and knick knacks from a world that has been slowly destroyed by his kind in an attempt to jog some memory of his former life into his rotten mind. Simply being able to remember more of his name than the first letter would be a huge victory.

R wants to be more than just another Zed.. unfortunately he still has the urge to kill. However a strange thing happens when he bites into the brains of his latest victim. The experiences and memories of the young man he is consuming overwhelms R and begins to alter R in a completely unexpected way.

Audio Production: I really enjoyed Kevin Kenerly’s narration of Warm Bodies. His depiction of R and M (probably my favorite character) were perfect. Another example of great casting!

Overall: Warm Bodies was much better than I could have anticipated. Isaac Marion explores issues from a completely unique perspective and challenges what it means to be human and how you should act if you are a zombie.
