My Review: Just when I think I’m not really into listening to a vampire audiobook, Jeaniene Frost manages to suck me back in at full force. Bear in mind, Frost’s vampires don’t sparkle, they love, care and kill.
This Side of the Grave is the most recent release in the Night Huntress series. This novel centers around Cat and Bones as they prepare for another battle. Once again, Cat’s life is on the line and pair must rally their friends, and a few foes, to save her life.
You’ll be reunited with Uncle Don, Vlad, Mencheres, Kira, Spade and Denise, a few of my favorites from Frost’s other novels. One of those favorites, will perish.
This Side of the Grave is jam packed with action and sprinkled with humor. And we can’t forget extremely steamy scenes between Cat and Bones. The love they share is untouchable and that’s something they both realize. How would either of them survive without their partner?
Look for One Grave at a Time: Night Huntress, Book 6 available on August 30, 2011.
Narrator Review: I haven’t listened to anything by Tavia Gilbert lately and by listening to this audiobook, I’m in love with her work again. It’s unreal how much emotion she puts into Cat’s character. Gilbert’s emotions and tone during the death scene moved me to tears. She made me feel like I was there, like I was the one in Cat’s shoes feeling her pain.

I love this series, I read the first 3 books before it came out on audio, so I tried Half way to the Grave.. I was completely turned off my Bones’s voice, such a great character and I thought he sounded whiney, but I’m going to give the next book a shot , sounds like you didn’t have a problem with the way she voiced bones.
Thanks for commenting! You know, I’m really up in the air about Bones’ voice. I love the accent and his voice in general… But I really don’t think it fits his character to well. He’s supposed to be this sexy, tough man, but he comes off whiney sometimes. I think the “Kit-en” and “love” comments he makes throughout the book suck me back into liking the voice. :)
