My Review: Susan B. Anthony Rabinowitz Gersten’s life is hectic. She’s the mother of triplets, wife to plastic surgeon and co-owner of a flower shop. She’s got a full plate of day to day business and chores, but her life turns upside down after her husband Jonah doesn’t come home.
With three four-year-olds asking, “Where’s Daddy?” in a reptitive fashion, Susie realizes something is wrong… very wrong. Jonah had a great track record of letting her know when he’d be home late or when something had come up. It was so unlike him not to call, or have someone else send a message.
After a few phone calls to his partners at the plastic surgeon’s office, she alerts the police to his disappearance. No one has seen him and no one has any answers. That is until they find him dead… in the apartment of a hooker. Ahem. I mean “escort”.
Jonah had been stabbed twice with a pair of scissors and all fingers point to the escort, Dorinda. But Dorinda isn’t around, so the search begins. The search of Dorinda and for answers.
Why on earth was Jonah with this escort? Their marriage was perfect. Granted, there wasn’t much time for love making after exhausting days at work and taking care of the triplets. But still… things weren’t that bad were they?
This was an interesting listen. I wouldn’t go on and on about it, but it was good. This audiobook takes you into Susie’s head… her thoughts, dreams, hopes and worst nightmares. Listen as Susie goes through the paces of his disappearance, murder and investigation. The police and investigators think Dorinda is the murderer… but is she really? And why?
Narrator Review: I was really surprised in Hillary Huber’s narration. At first, I thought her voice was slightly irritating but it grew on me really fast. She fit Susie’s personality perfectly. Great narration.
Disclosure: I received a copy of this audiobook from the publisher.
